Q. What can I expect in my apartment?

KharkovRent.com can offer you Kharkov central located apartments from studios - one room containing both the sleeping and lounge areas - through to one, two and three bedroom apartments. All of the apartments have direct dial telephone and TV and some have more entertainment facilities such as satellite TV, video, DVD, Jacuzzi etc. Studios and apartments have a kitchen, and in the case of the smaller properties and studios this is referred to as a kitchenette as it is not considered to be full size. In the larger apartments the kitchen can be a separate room. Kitchens are mostly equipped with a full cooker, microwave, fridge-freezer, and crockery (including plates, cups, glasses, pots and pans, etc.) and cutlery. Maid service provision varies in frequency; usually it is at additional costs, if not stipulated otherwise when you book the apartment. Our apartments do not have a restaurant, but this is normally not considered to be a disadvantage as you have a choice of cooking your own meals, dining in local cafes and restaurants (which are very nice and inexpensive), or ordering food from currier (if you intend so, please discuss it with our manager as soon as possible when booking a stay).

Q.Are bed linen and towels provided?

Bed linen and towels are provided in all of our apartments. There is no extra charge for this.

Q.How do I collect the keys?

The keys are given to you on arrival at the apartment. You will be met there by a representative from our company at a time specified by you in accordance with the time of your arrival.

Q.What are the check in and out times?

All apartments have a check in time of 2pm. If you arrive before 2pm and your apartment is ready you are more than welcome to check in. If we have guests checking out we need a few hours to clean the apartment. Any variation of these times is by prior arrangement only.

You are requested to check out of your apartment by 12am.

Q.What type of entrance does it have to the building?

All apartments we offer for rent are well-remodeled, clean and nice looking, but historically it is known that buildings in Soviet times were taken care of by "common body" institutions - such as ZhEKs, etc. Thus, they were taken care of badly - and most of the entrances to the multi-storey buildings were renovated long time ago (and buildings in the center of the city are quite old ones), thus when you enter a building, you will see that the paint on the walls can be faded in some places, and things like that. It's not very aesthetical, I must say, and though vast majority of our clients (all Americans, Australians and others) were OK with it, we had a couple of clients (rich Europeans mostly) were unhappy with these looks. So, we Think it's better to warn our clients beforehand. Again I should emphasize that all the apartments we rent out are safe and are located in the very safe area, as center of Kharkov is very quiet and reliable, the only disadvantage is the aesthetical looks of the entrance.

Q.Is there a new hot water system which is independent of any central supply?

The two centralized supplies of hot water are from the government (city council) and the building itself. Both are notoriously unreliable and you can just forget about having a nice hot bath.

You might not find an electric water heater because it is more expensive for its owner, but it is better than gas water heaters. Electric water heaters are easier to use and they heat up water faster and better. But the most important is to ask if it is a new system.

All our apartments have additional autonomous water heaters, so that you always have hot water even if the central heating system does not work.

Q.I know it can be very cold in winter in Kharkov (up to minus 25), will it be cold in the apartment?

As a rule NO, we carefully inspect our rented out apartments, they all are in good reliable houses and good working heating system. For extreme colds we supply extra portable electric heater.
